Tire Inspector

Job Description

The primary function of this position is to trim palletize and make minor repairs to large industrial tires in truck final, so as to maintain a quality tire and continuous flow of product.
 
Know, practice, and be in compliance with all safety rules and procedures. Maintain communication and teamwork to produce a product of the highest quality by the most effective process.

Essential Functions

1 . Trim tires incoming from curing presses
 
2. Trim all vents fom tread and sidewall areas
 
3. Change knife blades and sharpen blades as required and clean mold flash from knives as necessary
 
4. Make minor repairs to tires as required
 
5. Paint, buff off, patch offill tires.
 
6. Visually inspect tires during and afer trimming for all defects both major and minor.
 
7. Mark all defects and record, sort finished tires by catalog number, stack tires, glue and label,fill out and attach production record card.
 
8. Store tires in designated areas.
 
9. Operator is responsible for all material used and the product quality.
 
10. Maintain quality assurance reports and checks.
 
1 1 . Coordinate activities and safety to maintain a continuous production operation.
 
12. Report all required operation records and chars.
 
13. Must maintain the upkeep of all equipment and make adjustments necessary to maintain production flow.
 
14. Report or correct immediately all equipment malfunctions, unsafe equipment and acts, material/product deviations to supervisor.
 
15. Keep a clean and safe work area throughout shift.
 
16. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
