Job Description

The primary function of this position is to follow standard specifications and schedule to maintain molds and changeout of molds in presses. Maintain and service mold

bladders.

 

Know, practice, and be in compliance with all safety rules and procedures. Maintain communication and teamwork to produce a product of the highest quality by the most effective

process.

This position may require lifting up to 75 lbs. or more.

This position description is not intended to cover all aspects of the responsibilities of the position. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.

Attendance is an essential function of this position.

Essential Functions

1. Remove molds from press to be changed and/or cleaned and transport to mold cleaning unit or mold elevator as directed.

2. Obtain clean mold replacement mold and install in press.

3. Change glue in serial numbers in accordance with specifications.

4. Change post inflator rings, spacers and gaskets as necessary to make mold changes.

5. Make as necessary to insure proper curing of tires.

6. Warm up press and load first round to insure proper set up has been made.

7. Make bladder changes as necessary in accordance with general specifications.

8. Record the number of heats and tire item number on the scrap bladder.

9. Fill in required information on bladder change record form.

10. Groove bladders as specified or directed.

11. Place new bladders in storage after they have been approved by Quality Control.

12. Assist Curemen on start up and shutdowns.

13. Maintain and operate transport equipment.

14. Maintain quality assurance reports and checks.

15. Coordinate activities and safety to maintain a continuous production operation.

16. Report all required operation records and chaiis.

17. Must maintain the upkeep of all equipment and make adjustments necessary to maintain product flow.

18. Report or correct immediately all equipment malfunctions, unsafe equipment and acts, material/product deviations to supervisor.

19. Keep a clean and safe work area throughout shift.

20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma and/or general education (GED); and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that

performs the essential functions of this position. Must be able to read and interpret standard

specifications and schedules to maintain molds and changeovers of molds in presses.

 

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

Hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes.

 

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

 Must follow safety rules and safe practices to prevent injury to self and others. Must wear all required safety equipment and/or tools required for this position.

 

GENERAL RULES:

Report ALL ACCIDENTS to Supervisor.

Get First-Aid IMMEDIATELY for ALL injuries.

Follow instructions. Whenever in doubt, ASK!

Report unsafe conditions to Supervisor.

Must wear proper clothes and shoes approved for this position.

Protective clothing and equipment must be worn and/or used as needed.

Horseplay is forbidden.

No running on premises.

Know emergency evacuation routes, exits, and alarms.

Keep floors and work area clean and clear.

Smoking is allowed in designated areas only.

Use proper lifting and canying procedures. Use your legs and your back. If object is too heavy ask for help.
