Band Builder

Job Description

Titan International, Inc., a global leading wheel and tire assembly manufacture for the agriculture, construction, forestry and mining markets, is seeking a Band Builder to join our team at our Titan Tire Corporation facility in Bryan, OH. The primary function of this position (Band Builder) is to maintain proper operation of band unit with correct layup of bands per specification.

Essential Functions

- Responsible for building bands to schedule and proper specifications.
- Responsible for correct centering and application of the squeegee and gum strips and the overall width of the completed band.
- Remove trapped air from plies or squeegee.
- Will repair defective squeegee such as removing cured lumps and repair any holes in squeegee.
- Remove bands from belt to storage truck with correct method and segregation by codes and bands.
- Will mark and/or tag bands as required.  
- Report and record production, tag, identify and separate scrap fabric and squeegee.  Move out full trucks and obtain empty trucks.
- Band builders are responsible for setting up machine for proper operation to cut calendered rolls of fabric to the specified angle and width, splicing each cut end to end per specification tolerance on splicing table, tearing out defective stock, removing loose cords/liner strings, resplicing, trimming dog-ears, setting up guides, etc. for proper cuts.
- Change calender roll as required, checking tags against schedule and specifications.
- Thread and unthread unit as required.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- High school diploma and/or general education (GED); and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that performs the essential functions of this position.
- Must be able to read and interpret technical specifications.
- Must be able to pass certified safety screenings.
